Rowdy Roll Call: Hubballi Police Round Up Trouble in Surprise Raids!
Hubballi:In a surprising crackdown, the Hubballi-Dharwad Police carried out raids on the residences of known rowdy sheeters early Wednesday morning. The aim was clear – to send a strong message to these rowdy individuals that the police wouldn’t hesitate to take action if they decided to play outside the rules.
Led by ACP (South) Vijaykumar Talwar and their respective inspectors from the south sub-division, the police didn’t shy away from early morning operations. In the Bendigeri police station area, they stumbled upon two sharp weapons at the residence of notorious rowdy Shanmug Gudihal. ACP Vijaykumar Talwar said, he was booked under the Arms Act.
But the crackdown didn’t stop there. Five more troublemakers found themselves facing preventive measures under the CrPC, as the police maintained their momentum. Notably, three rowdies, who had been on the run despite warrants hanging over them, were successfully nabbed and were produced before the court.
On a parallel front, the North Sub-Division team, under the leadership of ACP Ballappa Nandaganvi and supervised by DCP Rajeev (Law and Order), carried out raids. During early morning operation the police conducted raid on 172 residences of rowdy elements. The operation is expected to continue in the coming days.
This strategy isn’t new to Police Commissioner Renuka Sukumar. Back during her tenure as DCP (Law and Order) in the commissionerate, she pioneered these surprise raids, a practice she continued after becoming COP. She’s known for her no-nonsense approach, even organizing rowdy parades to maintain order.
The police are resolute in their stance against anti-social elements flourishing in the twin cities, asserting that they’ll use an iron hand if anyone tries to disrupt the peace and tranquility of the community. The message is crystal clear: the police won’t tolerate lawlessness on their watch.
